About Annelise

Warmth, humor, and the hard questions.

Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist · Clinical member, AAMFT · Registered supervisor · M.Ed. Counseling Psychology, University of Oregon (2005)

Because I honor the therapeutic relationship as an opportunity for profound healing and growth, I approach my clients with respect, honesty, transparency, and acceptance. Every individual is a unique being and therefore my style is flexible to each client's emotional, mental, personal, cultural, and developmental needs.

I create an affirming place for people who identify as poly, kink, and LGBTQIA, genderqueer and questioning. I celebrate identity exploration and I will be present to help you discover what you value and who you really are.

My approach is compassionate and safe yet I am still an active participant and guide in the process. I will ask the hard questions while supporting you in gaining self acceptance and trust. I nurture hope, resiliency, self-worth and assertiveness.

How we'll work

Working through the body and the brain.

I believe in the importance of working experientially, through the body and with the brain, to create lasting change.

01

EMDR

Attachment Focused EMDR (trained through PTI), helping the mind use its natural healing process to reprocess overwhelming experiences.

02

Internal Family Systems

Free the parts from their extreme roles and restore trust in the Self.

03

Sensorimotor Psychotherapy

A body-centered talking therapy (trained through SPI): understand the impact experiences have on both mind and body.

04

Couples therapy

Training in Emotionally Focused Couple's Therapy and The Gottman Method, including intimacy issues stemming from a history of sexual abuse or assault.

05

Yoga therapy

Yoga therapy techniques (trained through Daya Foundation) to address patterns and pain stored in the body. Annelise has practiced yoga for over 20 years.

06

Assessments

Stand-alone assessment for eating disorder or gender dysphoria.

Therapy is a collaboration and as a therapist I'm present to help you discover what you value and who you want to be.
